"Our week in Athens was so much enhanced by the two days we spent with you that I wish we could have done more.  The Acropolis with Sophia, your guide, was wonderful, walking up that special way through the theatre of Dionysus and the Asclepeion.  She imparted a great deal to us about the place that we never would have learnt with a big group, I think, and she was so nice and considerate, as were you, picking us up and attending to our food (that really good restaurant in the Plaka) and then taking us home again.  We particularly enjoyed the monastery at Kaissariani and again being picked up and returned to our very door was a luxury.  Your knowledge of Greece ancient and modern and your ability to impart it in a way we could understand was outstanding.  Thanks very much for the newsletter, too."

"Now that we have returned to the UK just a note to say thanks for the professional, educational and thoroughly entertaining day in Athens you arranged for my girlfriend's birthday on 15 September 2003.

The talk on Greek history, religion and daily life, over lunch, was a brilliant foundation to the ensuing guided tour of the Acropolis and Parthenon afterwards.
